The infographic presents the top and bottom 10 countries of the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Index 2021 rankings. The Global Gender Gap Report 2021 measures 156 countries’ gender gap, focusing on the four key dimensions: Economic Participation and Opportunity, Educational Attainment, Health and Survival, and Political Empowerment. The higher the score, the closer the gap between genders.
The top 10 countries are dominated by Nordic countries, with Iceland, Finland, Norway, and Sweden in the top 5. Afghanistan is added to the rankings for the first time and is ranked at the bottom, just after Yemen, Iraq, and Pakistan.
